Project Overview:
Titanium alloy had fairly low thermal conductivity that probably resulted in burning or chip adhesion to the cutting tool during milling.
Seamless alignment between Cap and Housing was the key challenge, we offered minor but crucial design modification to meet this demand.
Titanium alloy had less stiffness than many other metals, which led to the possible risk of distortion and cutting tool jarring during the milling.
The smooth and streamlined part surface, pretty seamless alignment had this titanium milled pen looked unique, elegant and top grade.
Each pen went through strict quality check in appearance and seamless alignment, the substandard ones were sorted out for repair or remake.
Being different to milling the other common metals, milling titanium alloy had more requirements for heat dissipation and tolerance control.
