Customer was an automotive design and engineering company in USA, wanted to test impact and high temperature resistance of this bumper by low volume rapid prototypes. Though customer was new to our RIM technique, found it was a proper and economical solution for this project.
reaction injection molding company.jpgRapid and cheap mold (made of epoxy resin and silicone rubber) enabled our RIM to low volume manufacturing large parts quickly and economically.
reaction injection molding process.jpgThe finished RIM mold. Injection molding at room temperature and fairly low pressure allowed for low mold clamping force by simple clamps.
The maximum weight by one shot of injection molding was 35 kilograms, so our RIM process was preferable for molding large and heavy parts.
Compared to conventional injection molding, our RIM process had unique demolding mechanism, worked fine for insert molding and overmolding.
